Association of Scottish Neighbourhood Watches (AoSNW)
AoSNW is a registered charity, set up to promote greater public participation in community safety.
The Scottish Business Crime Centre
is home to the Association of Scottish Neighbourhood Watches.
Originally just about reporting
crime, Neighbourhood Watches are now concerned with ensuring that
communities are safe. This broader role encompasses issues as
diverse as road safety, doorstep safety and internet safety.
Neighbourhood Watches develop and
adapt to fit the communities they serve - and come in all shapes
and sizes! Members are at the heart of the community and can really
make a difference to people's everyday lives.
AoSNW is a registered charity, set
up to promote greater public participation in community safety. The
Association has taken over the administration of Scotland's
Neighbourhood Watches from the police and provides advice, support
and resources for local Watches and schemes so local communities
can benefit as much as possible.
