Best Bar None Scotland
The Best Bar None accreditation scheme was initially pioneered in 2003 by Greater Manchester Police as a means of promoting positive relations between the licensed trade and local partner agencies.
Adopted in Scotland in 2005 and supported
by the Scottish Business Crime Centre, it is aimed at
promoting responsible management and operation of licensed premises
in Scotland. It is sponsored in Scotland by
Diageo and the Scottish Government and encourages licensees to act
responsibly and take pride in their premises and surroundings. The
reward for this includes the prestige of being part of the awards
scheme both locally and nationally and the publicity this entails
through media and national websites.
